Obsessed much?

Why, yes as a matter of fact we ARE obsessed with Mad Men in that perfectly stereotypical way that most mid-century lovers across America have become in the last few months.

The set design is, of course, impeccable, and there is a great gallery from Season One that allows you to drool without really spoiling much.

Since we don’t have cable, we had to wait for the first season to appear on DVD, which we promptly queued up for Netflix to deliver as soon as it was available. Then we sped through the entire thing in just a few nights, stumbling through episode four, but otherwise enjoying ourselves immensely.
I’m struggling with whether to download the latest episodes and not wait for the second season to arrive on Blu-ray, but I may not be able to wait much longer since… so many of you are writing spoilers!
I guess I am going to have to ask myself the ultimate question. What would Betty Draper do?

That is so funny that you love MADMEN too and started watchng it because of the decor! That is exactly what happened to me! My neighbor told me about the series because she knew I’d love the decor, and soon after watching I was hooked on the story line too. I highly recommend downloading the Season 2 episodes from ITunes. Even though we do have cable, I was behind on the show and just couldn’t take it any longer. I downloaded it to my laptop and just watched to my heart’s content. I’m sure Betty Draper would agree, and Joan would reprimand you if you didn’t!(Crying is only aloud at home in your swanky apartment)
Your mid-century transformation is inspiring. We bought a 1950 home last December.Even though the house has a lot of traditional elements, we really loved the mid-century modern look, and are modernizing its look. It’s a work in progress, but a ton of fun. I have been selling all of the more rustic pieces we had from our country home on Craigslist, and turning around and buying more modern and Danish Modern pieces. Our living room and dining room are our first projects and are really coming together. My latest fun purchase was an early 60′s Elgin starburts brass clock that my husband just put above our mantle. It’s so swanky cool! In fact I’m blogging right here on my laptop, as I lounge on my 90″ Danish Modern couch and listen to Johnny Mathis on my vintage Curtis Mathis stereo console. It’s my little slice of heaven! Okay a fire in the winter w/a glass of wine would complete this picture, unless of course a Martini is more your swank style!
