Erwin House Endorses Obama

We now interrupt this houseblogging moment to make a political announcement.
If you haven’t already heard, Barack Obama is bringing record number of voters to the polls including independents and Republicans. Here in Texas, one of the reddest states in the country, we see our conservative neighbors and friends showing a positive interest in Obama. They are ready for change, too. And we see our Democratic friends and family members getting excited like never before. It is time for a change!
But Texas is not where our concern lies… If you are in a state that is voting on Super Tuesday, it is more important than ever that you stand up for change now. We must send a clear message that dynasties are no longer an acceptable form of democratic governance.
With Barack Obama as our candidate, we are convinced that we can win in a landslide in 2008 and usher in a new era of positive politics that collaborates across the red and blue lines for change.
Vote for Obama, tell your friends and neighbors and co-workers about him, put a sign in your window and a sticker on your car. Get out the vote in the Super Tuesday states!!! We can all be a part of the change!
Thanks in advance!

I’m bummed that my candidate won’t win, but it sure is great to see people in action!
As much as I’d like to believe this country is “over the hump” with regards to equality, somewhere in the back of my mind I know he won’t win.
Take for example Harold Ford, who ran for the Senate from the state of Tennessee in 2004. A light skinned black man running against a not-well-liked Republican incumbant. Ford was doing great at the polls until they aired a commercial that sported an attractive white woman with bare shoulders who said in a flirty manner at the end of the commercial: “call me Harold” and winked. His run for Senate then tanked, it was over.
I’m sorry, I have high hopes but the only way the Republicans will get their wish of a 100+ years of war president in office will be if the Democrats nominate someone who cannot be elected. I think there are still too many people alive today who remember the Civil Rights Movement. I really, sincerely, hope I’m wrong.
I’m in a solidly Republican conservative area of an otherwise Democrat-leaning “super-Tuesday” state, and it did my heart good to overhear a conversation between two coworkers. One, an older man nearing retirement, was talking about how he’s been a hard-core republican ever since Nixon, but that Obama makes him feel the way Kennedy had made him feel as an optimistic young man. That was one of the best endorsements I’ve heard so far: If someone like him feels that strongly about him, then there’s no doubt.
Patrica, if you want to vote strategically just to keep a Republican out of the White House, Obama is your candidate. He has consistently polled better than Clinton in head-to-head match ups with McCain.
Greetings from Washington State. I ran across this page doing research for my upcoming Mid-Century modern renovation and am going to use it as a reference. We’ve got a bit more room than you started with - 1248- but our direction is about the same, thanks for your great insights.
That being said, next on to politics. We in WA took full advantage of the opportunity to make a difference at the Democratic caucuses. And that sentiment seemed to be the theme of the day as Dems, Reps and Indes worked together for change and an overwhelming show of support for Obama.
Now it’s your turn. Seems like the pundits are already giving TX to Hillary. Texas is more important than ever. Get out the vote for CHANGE. No more of the same club. They’ve got us in the mess we’re in. Cmon Texas, put it together for Obama and show the rest of the country that the momentum isn’t going to be slowed.
Great site. I’ll be back.
We had an awesome moment on Friday morning when some random woman rang our doorbell to ask about our Obama sign in the yard. She seemed … perplexed to see this lily white momma and her blond-haired blue-eyed child answer the door… :: sigh ::
