In the Paper Today

IMG_0909There is a story about us in the Homes section of the Austin American Statesman today.
Best line in the story:

Its distinctive flat roof is now angled like the propped-up lid of a grand piano.

That’s all. We’ll let the pros do the writing today.

I just read the article and I was very impressed. Our house is a cookie cutter Bill Milburn of the 1970, it is so dated but it is in an excellent location off Oak Knoll and 183. It has 3 timy bedrooms on one side. We want to remodel but have no idea where to start. We are over 65, still working but plan to retire and stay in this house.
Where can we for help?
Thanks,
PH

Today’s article about you all and your home is quite interesting.
I would really like to see the answers to Phil’s questions.
Thanks,
Glen

“vaugely retro aura”, I liked that one. it’s no easy task to achieve vague AND retro when exuding an aura from just shirts and glasses.
and thankfully you were able to deter big people from the toilet before the restovation.

Hi, you have a really great site and I adore the doors! I have a new blogsite, retrorenovation.com, and will do a post on them soon! Meanwhile, take a look, and if you like it, can you feature me on your blogroll? I will be starting a house blogs page soon and will be happy to reciprocate. Thanks! Pam

Love the re-design you did on your home. The colors are very contemporary 50′s also.
We recently renovated our Edgar Tafel designed mid-century home (1954) but we kept the major details of the home. Mainly updating the bathrooms, kitchen and floors. As much as one might like lineoleum tile, the wood floors and tile floors really make the house better.

Hi, love your living room. Where did you get that area rug by the Christmas tree? I’m looking for a rug and I love that one.
