The Writing on the Walls


One of the fellows working on the house is deaf. I haven’t seen anyone use sign language on the site. They just get by with a lot of pointing and lip reading. This apparently works for almost every type of communication they need, except what to do for lunch. For this they write notes on the walls and studs.

There is also a drawing of a cobra, a herring-bone pattern in staples, a phone number and an address in the attic (hello?!? 7200 Grover?!?! that’s my framing crew and you can’t have them until they’re done!), and a member of the framing crew signed the family name on a brace in our bedroom wall…
