The Neck

There is a part of the house that I think is best referred to as “The Neck”. It’s the wall behind the stove and everything goes through it. The windpipe, the nerves, the blood, lymph, everything. And our neck has a big-ass beam in it. Deep breath … not my problem to solve … not my problem to solve.
Yesterday, I saw that the plumber had cut the hole in the floor for the kid’s toilet. Directly under the hole was the plenum for the AC. Welcome to “The Neck”. If I was the plumber, I would have packed up and called it a day.
In other news: (beware – rambling)
Did the walkthrough with the plumber on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday I was looking at the new windows. They have instructions for “typical” exterior trim stuck to the glass. That was exactly the trim we wanted. Not the trim we got. Ugh.
Looks like we will probably get the-door-I-have-always-wanted. Yea!
We have an unofficial half-way point walk through with the contractor this morning.
Our internet has been down for 2 days, so Christiane is off-line. Grande Communications has been nice on the phone and all, but enough is about to be enough.
