Christiane did a neat thing this evening. She took a photo of our living room from the exact position we had rendered it in Better Homes and Gardens Home Designer. (Put your mouse over the picture to see the rendering.)
We have these images in our heads from working in the software all summer and into the fall. And now we are starting to see them in the house. It reminds me of the time I saw Kevin Costner at the Paramount Theater (in the audience not the stage). It’s that funny feeling of seeing something in real life that you had only seen in pictures. Like the house is famous in my mind.
I dropped by at lunch today and watched the framing crew nail down the upstairs sub-floor. I could have stood in the back yard all day watching them. There was something incredibly soothing about it. Christiane had the same reaction yesterday.
We have had matching reactions to other phases of the construction. When I saw the very first bit of framing begin, I suddenly became ravenously hungry. I raced home and ate chicken off the bone like a wild animal. Two days later Christiane had the same reaction (except all the chicken was gone).
