From the East, Friday AM

FRIDAY AM:

WEDNESDAY AM:

SATURDAY AM:

I had driven by the house on Thursday morning and thought to myself, “The no-walls thing is really getting to me. I need to stop driving by until there are walls.”

On our way to Brentwood Tavern last night, David made a pit stop. I’ll be damned–there were walls.

Funny how the footprint is about 10% larger and mostly unchanged but feels so much bigger. It makes the original home seem cramped… which it was. It makes the new home seem light and airy.

We gawked a little bit at the height of the ceiling in the dining room (which will be vaulted). I peeked into the north side of the house where there will be a covered area under the upper deck. We both pretended to stand at the kitchen sink and watch the kids play in the backyard. The kids climbed through the doors and windows like they were ghosts.

I think, seeing something go up instead of come down, I feel better. A weight was lifted from all of us, and we had a great time playing and eating at the Tavern.
