On Tuesday we got an email from the neighborhood listserve about a web site set up by the city’s cleverly named “Task Force” to take public input about housing building codes.
One of the top topics is called, “‘Good’ & ‘Bad’ Examples: Single Family Houses”, where people are encouraged to drive around and take pictures of their neighbors houses, and post them to the web site with commentary.
The very first post jeered a duplex on the west side. It included a photo, address, link to a mapquest map (should you like to jeer the house in person) and an impromptu eyeball estimate of the ratio of square footage to lot size (0.48 as a matter of fact).
How in the blazes did they think that was going to turn out well?

3. You’re right! Those people need to trim their bushes. (Referring to the wrong house in the photo. This is a lot funnier if you could see how completely overgrown the bushes are, but I won’t post the photo. Two rudes don’t make right, or something like that.)
