Holy Crap!

holycrap.jpg
Update 12:30am: I called Ace who was so asleep he almost couldn’t speak. Then I went to the house. What a haunted house scene. Lightning, thunder, a creaky gate, half a house, and a big billowing blue tarp. I got a broomstick and pulled down a couple of corners that were exposed, and hooked the tarp to various nails which stick out of the house about every two or three inches. While I was under the rain-splattering-blue-lighting-tarp I heard a pile of wood fall over. So I stepped out to see who Ace had sent.
Wild dogs. I’m not making this up. Two of them. A chow and a Sheppard I think. They started to bark and snarl at me. I did not have a plan for this. “Good doggy?” The wind was blowing too hard for them to smell my fear, and they left.
Kearby and Bob showed up. I can’t imagine how tired these guys must be. Ace had already sent them out at nine to put the tarp on. When they had the tarp down good, Kearby called Ace, “Just to be mean.” Ace told him it was raining like a bull pissing on a flat rock in Cedar Park.
Back at the house. It looks like the worst of it missed us. There’s one more cell about a half hour away. I’m not going to sleep well, but I’m giving myself points for not stepping on the part of the blue tarp that covered the chasm in the living room.
