David is a hands-on kind of guy. For those of you coming to the open house tonight, be prepared to feast your eyes on the 3D model he’s been working on.

If I have time today and tomorrow, I will start posting some back-dated entries. I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet or not, but this is our second model after more than 100 floorplan and elevation sketches. It took us a while to get here!
Since we designed the house ourselves instead of hiring an architect, one might guess that we find all of this, well, fun. And one would be correct. What better than staying up until 3am building your own home from matte board and foam core?

We did! We offered to our neighbors to come over and pick our brains about the process. We knew a lot of people in the ‘hood might have questions or concerns, and many are in the process of planning a remodel themselves. It went swimmingly. We have lovely neighbors :)

these type homes do not go with the vintage style homes. I(we) do not like this type of home in the hood as we call it. Many, many, many people who have been living here for 20-30-40- years do not understand why you people are doign this to a beautiful neighborhood. WE feel sure that 85%+ of the good people who live here before you, don not like what is going on. BUT there is nothing that we can do about it. You asked, now you know.

Debra, thanks for your input. I hope that our differences in style and opinion don’t need to translate into animosity towards one another as neighbors. Like you, we love this neighborhood and we’re very proud to be a part of it.
