Off with the carport!

…and the detached storage. This is where Christiane’s presence is important to getting things done. See me in that picture? You can’t tell, but I’m thinking, “Hmm. I wonder if that was such a good idea.”

The kids got a tour of hazards. Don’t fall on nails, pick up broken glass, open natural gas lines, step on live wires, that sort of thing. The smaller one registered my freak-out and then picked up a big rusty electrical staple. I had to bolt him into a car seat for his safety and my sanity.
Inside, a hole about 2′ by 12′ was cut out of the floor in the living room for the new piers. It’s much cleaner than I expected. They seem to be sweeping up at the end of the day. I really thought it would look like a bomb went off under the house. There have been a few professional touches like that that I really appreciate. Someone replaced the burnt out light bulb on the front porch, and they saved our bushes in the front yard.
One bad thing, there was a lot of urine on the toilet seat. We are paying real money for a big teal port-a-potty in our front yard. Ya can’t miss it. And I’m sure it’s equiped with a urinal for people who are to delicate to touch a toilet seat with their fingers.
